Hughie Fury camp plan legal action to overturn Joseph Parker defeat

WBO Heavyweight champion Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury took nearly an eternity to finally get in the ring with each other, but neither man was able to claim victory as the two fought in an uneventful bout in Manchester.

One judge scored a draw and the other two went heavily for Parker with dubious tallies of ten rounds to two in favour of the New Zealander for his swings, cuffs, hefty charges and solid jabs to the arms of a retreating Fury.

Joseph Parker is the defending champion, edging out Andy Ruiz Jr to claim one of the belts that Tyson Fury vacated.

Parker said it was frustrating trying to catch the defensive Fury but he's proud to have taken his WBO belt in Fury's backyard.

But while Hughie was contemplative in defeat, his more vocal cousin Tyson couldn't contain his frustration as he confronted British Boxing Board of Control boss Robert Smith in the ring.

Irrespective of his victory, Parker will likely be disappointed by his inability to quickly dispatch Fury or secure a statement victory.

Ali's rapid ton too much for West Indies
This is also England's second fastest ODI hundred, after Jos Buttler's 46-ball ton against Pakistan in Dubai in November 2005. He eventually holed out off spinner Ashley Nurse and received a standing ovation from a near-capacity crowd.

Parker, now 24-0, understandably disagreed: "He put up a good fight".

Fury has a two inch height advantage. Parker will walk through Fury's best punches. Fury did tire and Parker did get closer, but essentially it was a battle of wits and Fury, with his father Peter in the corner, won that fight without complaint.

In fact, not many people will truthfully be able to say they were as the bottom tier of the Manchester Arena was barely three-quarters full - whatever Emirates-style attendance is released should be tempered by the obvious reality that there were only about 5,000 fans present.

The victor is a step closer to facing of other undefeated heavyweight champions, American Deontay Wilder and Brit Anthony Joshua to unify the belts. Hughie realised he couldn't stand there with Joe, he had to move a lot if he was going to survive and that's what he did, he moved non-stop for 12 rounds.

Tactics fury would be understandable if the Briton in the second half of the fight intensified, but nothing happened. Parker still looked unsure of victory at the end, and Fury's family spilled into the ring thinking their man had won.
