Anthem Protesters Will Be Fired — NASCAR Owners

President Donald Trump made headlines during a rally on Friday when he said it would be great to see NFL owners fire their players when they refuse to stand for the United States national anthem, referring to the protesters as SOB's. "They said it loud and clear!" This is America." Added Trump supporter Richard Petty, who of course was a seven-time championship driver: "Anybody that don't stand up for that ought to be out of the country.

"Get you a ride on a Greyhound bus when the national anthem is over". That's where I live. So many people have given their lives for it.

President Trump took to Twitter to thank the NASCAR owners for expressing their sentiments.

In response to the massive uptick in protests, Trump tweeted Monday morning that "the issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race".

Trump on Monday also tweeted that fans who booed players who kneeled during the national anthem were demanding respect for the country's flag.

With such strong words, it's worth taking a look at the connection between Petty, Childress, NASCAR and patriotism.

NASCAR's most popular driver, went on Twitter Monday morning to support those who peacefully protest.

The JFK reference was to a quote by the late President John Kennedy.

The NASCAR Series flag flies alongside the old Confederate battle flag during the NASCAR Winston Cup Series Primestar 500 race on March 9, 1997, at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga.

Commerce Department sides with Boeing, hits Bombardier with hefty duties
Boeing has driven the U.S. government's investigation into the CSeries, which competes in the 100- to 150-seat sector. The Commerce Department said enforcement of USA trade law "is a prime focus of the Trump administration".

However, the heated debate is still largely dividing people of all political persuasions.

Earnhardt is basically in a 'what me worry?' mode anyway.

"Like I said, I just want to support my teammates", Brady said.

"Moving forward, we will be on the field", Roethlisberger said. It's part of our democracy.

"I'm proud of the way we've represented ourselves, and I'm proud of this sport, too".

Many fans would prefer sports and politics stay as separate as possible, but reality sometimes makes that impossible.

Earnhardt became further enmeshed in the debate when he responded to another tweet cautioning him on making visible comments. All of the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the exception of lineman Alejandro Villanueva, a U.S. Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient, stayed in the locker room during the national anthem at Soldier Field. "Now we have to figure out what's the next step", said Bushrod, who stood arm-in-arm with teammates for the anthem before Miami's loss to the New York Jets. "I think we really feel that heart to heart, most people kind of feel like that are with us".

Many NASCAR owners spoke out against the protests from other sports. Bruce Maxwell, a catcher for the Oakland A's baseball team, knelt before their game.
