Ben Simmons Impresses On NBA Debut

In Wednesday's season opener against the Washington Wizards, Joel Embiid logged more minutes than he did in almost half of his games played a year ago.

"I felt like I was playing (a video game), honestly", Simmons said. They'll entertain the Boston Celtics in Friday's home opener at the Wells Fargo Center, then play the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night at Air Canada Centre. The game will be sold out.

"I'm actually going to ask them the question", Embiid said, referring to the team's medical staff. "I think the plan is just get out there, play, and see how I feel. It gets me going, too". For perspective, he shot 65 percent on free throws in college - not a good number for a guard, but certainly more respectable than what he's done with the Sixers.

"It's also on me not to lie to them and tell them how my body feels when I'm exhausted", Embiid said.

"How about Ben Simmons' first game in the National Basketball Association?", 76ers coach Brett Brown said. "I'm guaranteeing Philly is going to make the playoffs!"

This will be his first time playing in front of the home crowd since January 27 due to suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Britain's retail sales down in September
Department store sales grew by 9.4% to account for 14.5% of sales, and food sales by 10.3% (5.3% of retail sales in the sector). This was also weaker than the expected 2.1 percent.

Lin played only 36 games last season due to nagging hamstring injuries.

The LSU product put his all-around game on display against Washington and showed that he's willing to be a Swiss army knife for the Sixers this season.

Embiid finished with team highs of 32 points and seven rebounds to go with four assists, a team-high three steals and a co-team high two blocks.

Prior to Wednesday's contest, there was some frustration surrounding the Sixers star center after Brett Brown made it clear his plan was for Embiid's minutes to be in the teens, although the head coach did claim his decision would be based off the flow of the game.

But turnovers doomed two late chances for the 76ers, and their hosts went five of six from the free throw line to seal the win.
