KELLOGG Cereal Box Called Out for Racism By SALADIN AHMED

KELLOGG Cereal Box Called Out for Racism By SALADIN AHMED

The company in charge of creating one of our favorite cereals fumbled with the artwork on their Corn Pops box, and an observant Twitter-user was quick to call them out.

On Wednesday forenoon, Ahmed tweeted to Kellogg's: "why is the only brown corn pop on the whole cereal box the janitor?"

But in the middle of the drawing, Ahmed spotted a lone non-yellow corn pop.

Ahmed then added, "Yes it's a tiny thing, but when you see your kid staring at this over breakfast and realize millions of other kids are doing the same..."

Spain deny Mali another World Cup final
The match is nicely poised as the battle between football's two big virtues: Mali's relentless attack and Spain's resilience. Spain added a third with 20 minutes to play through Ferran Torres .

Ahmed, who is the current writer for the Black Bolt series which focuses on the leader of the Inhumans, pointed out the struggle in a tweet Tuesday which featured the Pops in a bustling shopping center. But that's not all.

The Corn Pops complaint attracted outrage of all sorts on Twitter - a few of it was directed at the cereal company, and some routed at Ahmed. Kellogg's had this to say. We did not intend to offend - we apologize.

"Genuinely appreciate the rapid response", Ahmed tweeted back. "We apologize sincerely. The package artwork has been updated and will begin to appear on store shelves soon as it flows through distribution". Ahmed also claimed that some trolls were trying to hack into his Twitter account and warned his followers that weird stuff may get posted. While some people agree with Ahmed, many do not and think that he made a big to do about nothing. So when novelist Saladin Ahmed noticed that the only non-yellow corn pop in the scene was a brown-skinned janitor, he had to do something about it.
