World Food India Congress 2017 is going to witness the biggest congregation of global investors and business tycoons of major food companies.

Taking the stage during the inaugural session, PM Modi hailed India's rising economy by claiming that India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

"Simple, home-based techniques, like fermentation, have resulted in creation of our famous pickles, papads, chutneys & murabbas.that excite both the elite and the masses across the world", PM Modi said. "Increasing urbanisation and the growing middle-class has boosted food industry in India", Modi said, adding that India's economy was in "high gear". After Yoga, khichdi may also become popular around the world. "7,000 stakeholders from nearly 60 countries have come under one roof", Ms Badal said.
