National Football League suspends Tampa Bay's Mike Evans for 'cheap shot' on Saints player

The officials did not eject anyone from the contest.

Evans was penalized 15 yards for his role in the altercation.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have not been having a very good Monday.

Evans should find out early in the week if he's facing a possible suspension so that there would be time for the appeals process to play out before the Bucs face the Jets next Sunday.

Jameis Winston Exits Game With Shoulder Injury, Replaced By Ryan Fitzpatrick
Since his initial injured, the Bucs (2-6) have suffered three straight defeats to extended their losing streak to five matches. Winston first injured his shoulder in the 38-33 loss to the Arizona Cardinals , and he also was replaced by Fitzpatrick there.

Louis Riddick says that Jameis Winston is the cause of Mike Evans getting suspended for his fight with Marshon Lattimore during the Buccaneers-Saints game.

Tampa Bay backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick missed on a third-down deep ball to receiver DeSean Jackson with Lattimore in coverage. Lattimore appeared to be involved in a verbal confrontation with the Buccaneers' sideline, and even got in a shoving match with Winston before Evans came over and threw punches. Then Evans flew in for the tackle. I know it went to NY to look at. "So he was a little angry, [Evans] was". "I wanted to go at him after that. He snuck me from behind", Lattimore said. I should have just shoved him away, tried to break it up.

"If I would have known what I know [now], Mike probably should have been ejected".

"But that's definitely not the way we want to represent ourselves, if it was in, fact the way I was told". "But I reacted too quick".
