Cavs working to get Isaiah Thomas run at G League practices

Don't look now, but Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas is inching closer and closer to making his debut with his new team.

The Cavs' official timeline for Thomas' recovery provided to the media in late September called for Thomas to be back playing games by the first of the year.

Thomas has been out since May and is yet to take part in a full practice session with the team, mainly due to the fact that they very rarely practice.

The Cavs, winners of 18 of their last 20 games, have ultra-rare back-to-back practices scheduled for Saturday in Cleveland and Sunday in San Francisco ahead of their NBA Finals rematch with the Golden State Warriors. A Cavs source described the Napa excursion as a "nice way to break up a long trip".

Thomas has yet to play in a game for the Cavaliers after the blockbuster trade that sent him to Cleveland and Kyrie Irving to the Celtics. Though Thomas thinks he could play right now.

Here's where you can watch the Newgrange solstice live tomorrow
But that usually doesn't make the solstice the coldest day of the year, or put it in the middle of winter. December 21 marks our winter solstice , but it's the summer solstice if you head beneath the equator.

Isaiah has had a lot to say about Boston's decision to trade him and it will be an emotional occasion if he suits up on that night to face his former team as he's determined to gain some level of revenge.

Thomas aggravated an existing hip injury in last season's playoffs and has been recovering throughout the offseason.

Our models project Thomas for 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 27.6 minutes per game the rest of the season.

"In the months since he joined the Cavs, Thomas has repeatedly referenced his motivation to get vengeance against Boston", McMenamin noted.
