Wife, mother meet with jailed Indian officer in Pakistan

Moments after Kulbhushan Jadhav's mother and wife met him in Islamabad, the Pakistan Foreign Office released a video of him thanking the authorities for facilitating the meeting. The video statement, where he was seen briefly recounting the so-called confession, was apparently recorded sometime before he met his family.

Then, at 3:26 pm IST, Faisal tweeted out four photos purportedly showing Kulbhushan meeting his mother and his wife.

Pakistan had allowed the meeting of death raw convict Kulbhushan Jadhav with his mother and wife on humanitarian grounds. "One can only imagine the plight of Jadhav's mother". "Pakistan mere completed a formality by arranging the meeting in such a manner", he said.

It was the fist time Jadhav was meeting his family since his arrest in March previous year.

India's Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh, who was supposed to accompany Jadhav's mother and wife to Islamabad, will not be allowed to meet him.

President Donald Trump Commutes Sentence of Shlomo Rubashkin
The Obama administration rebuffed arguments in favor of Rubashkin, and in January, Chief U.S. The U.S. attorney's office denied the allegations.

"I requested a meeting with my wife and mother and I am thankful to Govt of Pakistan for this grand gesture", he was heard saying in the video which was played several times before the Foreign Office briefing. It was not known where he had been kept before being transported to the foreign ministry. The mother and wife of Jadhav were being provided with a meeting with him in the light of "Islamic traditions and based on purely humanitarian grounds", Faisal had said.

Kulbhushan Jadhav was brought to the Ministry through the back door for meeting with his family members under strict security measures.

The roads leading from and to the Foreign Office building have been closed to traffic ahead of the meeting.

Jadhav was tried in a military court which sentenced the spy to death, however, the issue was taken to International Court of Justice (ICJ) earlier this year which stayed his execution.

However, New Delhi has been maintaining that Jadhav, a retired Navy officer, was kidnapped from Iran where he had some business interest.
