Relatives of the family of four found slain in upstate NY are begging the public to come forward with information that may lead investigators to the suspects behind their savage murder, reports said.
The bodies of Shanta Myers, 36, her 11-year-old son Jeremiah, her 5-year-old daughter Shanise, and 22-year-old Brandi Mells were found in their basement apartment the day after Christmas.
A 15-year-old boy who lost four family members in a tragic quadruple homicide in upstate NY fears for his safety and is anxious that the murder suspect, who is still on the loose, may have plans for him next.
Police said they have received many leads and are combing through an "enormous" amount of video collected from cameras on houses and businesses near the crime scene.
"After being in this business for 43 years, I can't describe the savagery of a person who would do this", Tedesco said. "I don't have the word".
He added: "I think anybody that's had any contact with this case..."
"It's going to devastate us for a very, very long time", Symes said Thursday.
Myers's 15-year-old son Isaiah Smith, who was away from the family home during the murders, is the sole survivor in the family.
"I had no reason to believe this at all".
"I fell down to the ground right in the bathroom and cried, thinking who would've done this?"
"It feels like somebody's ripped us to shreds, and we only have each other right now, and we are grasping and holding on to each other for dear life".
Isaiah's brother Jeremiah dreamed of playing for the Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association one day and had also been a member of the Troy Boys & Girls Club for six years. "You would see her out there frying up empanadas", Symes said.
Plane makes U-turn for carrying wrong passenger
The Tokyo-bound flight, NH175, was interrupted on behalf of a single mixed-up passenger, who had boarded the incorrect flight. A Twitter user named Raffy snapped a selfie with Teigen and Legend and posted it as his first-ever tweet.
According to Brown, 22-year-old Brandi Mells attended West Genesee for her 9th, 10th and 11th grade years.
The family said Shanise was interested in cooking and was like "a grown woman in a little body".
"I mean, there was no telling that girl what to do!" "This girl was so attractive with kids and she loved them the way any parent would and she didn't have kids".
"Please keep the Coleman family in your prayers". "She's very mild-mannered".
"Our hearts are shattered".
Symes says Myers' older son has been living with her for about two months.
"Thank you for your prayers, inboxes and phone calls".
Symes confirmed she would raise Isaiah following the horrific murders.
"We're going to do everything we can to look into this and get to the bottom of what happened here", he continued. Police responded to the building on Second Avenue in Troy, a city eight miles northeast of Albany, about 12:50 p.m.
The two children were students in the Troy City School District, where grief counsellors were being brought in on Friday to help their classmates, it has been reported.
Tedesco said it is likely that the family was targeted.
Tedesco vowed that the police would do all it could to solve the crime.
