Neighbors Hang 'Make America Gay Again' Sign at Mike Pence's Colorado Home

The daughters of the family that lives across the street, along with one of their friends, put up a sign that said "MAKE AMERICA GAY AGAIN" on a rainbow background. Pence also as a history of opposing the LGBT community.

Reactions to the rainbow flag near his vacation home have been mixed on Twitter.

While governor of Indiana, Pence signed legislation that critics said encouraged discrimination against gay people, has previously opposed repealing the US military's former "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and once likened marriage equality to "societal collapse" - positions that have placed him at odds with the LGBTQ community. In today's inauguration ceremony Donald J. Trump becomes the 45th president of the United States. But those only applied in cities, some of which are the most liberal in the state, where such protections already exist locally.

Pence's spokesman, Mark Lotter, told The New York Times previous year that the vice president does not support conversion therapy, and that his campaign statement was misinterpreted. The bill, called the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, or RFRA, led to a national protest.
