Oakland Raider's recycling program: Jon Gruden returns as head coach

On Saturday, Jon Gruden called his last game with Sean McDonough, and while he wouldn't confirm he was leaving, it became very evident that he was leaving which is why Sean became extremely emotional after the broadcast.

As such - and especially with Saturday afternoon's playoff game featuring one of the Raiders' division rivals, the Chiefs - fans on social media and at Arrowhead Stadium were quick to poke fun at the situation, as well as Gruden's reported 10-year deal and worth an estimated $100 million.

The Raiders released a one-sentence statement with their tweet: "The Oakland Raiders will host a press conference at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 9 to officially introduce Jon Gruden as the new head coach of the Silver and Black". After leading the Raiders to 8-8 records his first two years, Gruden helped the team reach the AFC title game following the 2000 season and got Oakland back into the playoffs the following season. He has a career coaching record of 95-81.

When McDonough acknowledged the news before the game, Gruden awkwardly replied by saying nothing is official, but afterwards, he accepted the farewell and said, "It's been a great run".

United States places Pakistan on watch list for violations of religious freedom
Earlier this week, the White House said Islamabad would have to do more to combat terrorism to receive USA aid. They make up around 1.6 percent of Pakistan's population.

The 54-year-old coached the Raiders between 1998 and 2001, before being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With Gruden's impending return to the Silver & Black sidelines, it seems like the ideal time to take a look back at one of the most famous (infamous?) trades in Raiders history.

The Raiders fired Jack Del Rio following the end of a disappointing six-win season.

In 2008, the Super Bowl-winning Head Coach parted ways with the Buccaneers, and ventured into the broadcast booth. Could he be the man to replace Gruden on ESPN? In 2009, Gruden got behind the ESPN color analyst desk for Monday Night Football.
