Cameron Jordan pokes fun at Cam Newton after Saints' win

The NFL revised the concussion protocol after Houston Texans QB Tom Savage was let back into a game following a hit that left him shaking on the ground, though the Texans were not fined.

League officials have already been in contact with the Panthers' medical staff as to why Newton was not taken to the locker room when he was being evaluated for a concussion.

Newton took a shot to the head area from Saints defensive tackle David Onyemata midway through the fourth quarter. Newton came out of the game for one play, was not sent to the specified blue medical tent and then re-entered and played the remainder of the game.

"This "Cam Newton's visor poked him in the eye" is the greatest storyline in the history of sports", Nowinski said.

Newton echoed Rivera's assessment that he was poked in the eye.

SpaceX to launch top-secret Zuma Sunday
After a almost two-month delay, the rocket is set to blast off sometime during a two-hour launch window, which opens at 8 p.m. Falcon 9 rocket will return to Landing Zone 1 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station .

'NFL concussion protocol should have dictated taking out Cam Newton and examining him immediately after direct hit to his head, ' Pat Leonard wrote.

Jordan got the last word by making the game-saving play in Sunday's 31-26 victory over the Panthers in their wild-card playoff game - plowing through two blockers to force an intentional grounding penalty (although Carolina coach Ron Rivera disagreed with the grounding call).

"Even if he was faking an injury to buy time, since he went down right after a massive head impact, the new National Football League concussion protocol dictates he had to go the locker room for a full evaluation", Nowinski wrote.

This is not the first time the Panthers' handling of Newton has come under scrutiny. Newton later said he did NOT feel like he had a concussion, but suffered an eye injury from his helmet slipping down. "I appreciate him. So I'm gonna send him some sauce", Jordan said - an obvious reference to Newton's earlier comments. I hate that I couldn't do enough to get a win today for a lot of guys that I think so highly of.

It comes after the Seattle Seahawks were fined $100,000 for failing to test quarterback Russell Wilson in Week 10.
