Amit Shah hits out at Cong's 'politics of appeasement'

Amit Shah dubbed the Congress-led government a "goonda government".

BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday attacked the Siddaramaiah government, saying, "If there was to be a competition for the most corrupt government in the country in the past five years, the award would go to the Congress government in Karnataka".

Addressing a BJP rally, he said, the Siddaramaiah government had "shamelessly" indulged in corruption. There are several temples in this region that the Congress government wants to control.

"If Siddaramaiah thinks politics of appeasement will be successful, he's wrong". Their time to go has come near.

The Bengaluru police had in fact filed an FIR against lawmaker N A Haris' son the day after the incident, accusing him of thrashing a man who had placed his bandaged leg on a table at a restaurant in an upscale mall in the city. "Not only because he is Haris's son, but because it involved appeasement of groups and vote-bank politics", he added.

He said BJP had not taken short cuts like Congress to win elections and lakhs and lakhs of party workers had put in hard work from the booth level.

He is touring the state as part of the campaign for the upcoming Assembly polls in the state. "Winning just elections is easy as there will be a wave or some ones fault or anti-incumbency, but BJP along with winning elections has also worked for strengthening the party from deep bottom", he said.

"People of Karnataka needs "Good Governance" of BJP not "Goons Governance", Shah told media. Till you strengthen the booth, the party will not have a strong base to win elections. 'We have learnt a lot from the last experiment, ' he said.

"Karnataka BJP workers have to make sure that this victory march of Narendra Modi enters southern India through the state", said Shah, who has been on a tour of Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts since Monday.
