N.M. Aircrew Points Ground Teams to Utah Plane Crash Site

An aircrew from Civil Air Patrol's New Mexico Wing guided Colorado and Utah searchers to the crash site after reading the downed plane's emergency signal, the agency said in a statement on its website.

The single-engine plane, a Piper Lance, had been flying from Grand Junction, Colo., to Albuquerque, N.M., according to FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford.

Ron McKenzie, 66, was also on board the plane that failed to land in New Mexico after taking off from Colorado.

The four passengers included a father, son and two family friends, according to John Kaupp, whose family members were on the flight.

CAP was tasked with helping locate the plane by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. "In the future I will talk about how great the four people that we lost were to everyone that knew them, but for now we are going to grieve", Kaupp Family Farms said in a post on their Facebook Page.

Stop the threats or we quit nuclear deal, Iran tells Trump
President Trump also questions the agreed upon terms under which Iran's nuclear facilities can be inspected by global authorities. The nuclear deal , however, did not do much to ease tensions between the United States and Iran.

Jon Kaupp reportedly told The Daily Sentinel on Friday that the plane was grounded Thursday in Grand Junction by snowy weather.

The plane crashed in Utah about 4 nautical miles from the Colorado state line, roughly halfway between Monticello, Utah, and Dove Creek, Colorado, and on the west side of much higher terrain, he said.

"There's been no contact since, we can't track Iphones and there's no radio", she said, adding tow of the men are in their 60s, the others on their late 20s.

"I started calling around to different airports down there, trying to figure out where they might be", he said.
