Ryanair CANCELS all flights from four major United Kingdom airports

By mid-morning on March 1 Glasgow Airport had said there will be no arrivals or departures before 15:00 local time.

Over in the Republic of Ireland, all flights at Cork and Kerry Airports have been cancelled, while a number of flights have also been slashed at Dublin.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline and not to travel to the airport if their flight is cancelled.

Flights from Newcastle, Kirkwall, Durham and Heathrow have already been cancelled this morning. Gatwick and Stansted Airports are both reporting flight cancellations and delays today, and are advising customers to contact their airlines.

It comes as passengers were forced to stay overnight in airports as they waited for news on their flights.

Passengers had been earlier advised to check flight schedules amid a number of cancelations by carriers but management have now made a decision to close the Airport from 6pm on Thursday until 5am Saturday morning.

That same day, police apprehended the suspect in Nara Prefecture on suspicion of confining the woman in the Higashinari residence. The local media identified the woman as a 27-year-old company employee from Sanda city, in neighbouring Hyogo prefecture.

WINTER weather across the north of Europe is hitting flights hard in both the United Kingdom and Spain.

British Airways said the "very poor" weather conditions will continue to affect some of its flights.

"We will have snow crews working today and tomorrow to continue to clear the runway, taxiways, aircraft parking stands and apron areas for our airline customers' planned resumption of services on Saturday morning".

"Further snow is forecast during the day which will make travel conditions to and from the airport extremely challenging".

Meanwhile, a spokesperson said that "anyone with a cancelled flight can request a full refund, or request to be rebooked onto the next available flight, there will be no charge in this instance".

All Aer Lingus and Ryanair flights will be grounded this afternoon.
