'Too soon to say' if missing mom was abducted from home

The Middlesex County Sheriff's Office said 23-year-old Terrilynn St. John was reported missing from her home at 15 Mill Wharf Rd.in Wake, Virginia on Tuesday.

St. John was living with her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance.

John, 23, was last heard from around 7:30 a.m., when she went to her auto in her front yard, preparing to take her children to daycare, according to family members.

Investigators have interviewed at least four persons of interest about St. John's disappearance.

Authorities are expected to release further details once they finish speaking to Keyser.

In addition, they said her vehicle was still at home and her broken necklace was found in the yard. The following morning Keyser "reached out" to investigators and led law enforcement to St. John's body at about 9 a.m., said Major Sampson.

Following the discovery of the body, St. John's family and boyfriend set up a GoFundMe account to cover the funeral expenses. He then got out and strangled her until she stopped breathing.

"Keyser stated to detectives he confronted St. John at her residence about statements that were made about Keyser". He also admitted that various items found at the crime scene were his.

Keyser is being held at Peninsula Regional Jail and is due in court Monday morning.

Detectives reached out to Keyser Wednesday night after seeing social media posts, Sampson said.

At a press conference Thursday, the sheriff's office said more charges could be filed and more persons of interest will be interviewed.

The Sheriff's Office said their investigation is transitioning from a missing person's report to a homicide investigation.
