Alan Shearer slams Alexis Sanchez for 'going missing' since joining

The Red Devils signed Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window as Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed a move to Manchester United.

His move to United made him the first Chilean player in football history to play for Manchester United. "Arsene understood it at last, we ended up on good terms, he congratulated me and there was no problem", Sanchez said.

The 29-year-old earns a fortune at Old Trafford, a reported £450,000 a week but has come under the criticism from the United faithful regarding his recent performances.

The Argentinean has given an interview to TV channel TyC Sports and has suggested that his relationship with Sanchez wasn't too good ahead of his arrival.

'He told me: "I want you to sign here because you are the best player in the team".

Sanchez however revealed that he choose not sign an extension at Arsenal as he wanted to progress as a player.

Man United have failed to get the best out of the Chilean in the two months he has spent at the club, and Shearer has certainly noticed.

However, the 29-year-old also revealed that he is still getting over the heartbreak of Chile's failure to reach this year's World Cup in Russian Federation.

He revealed that after the defeat he came back to England to be with his dogs and no one else.

'After the match against Brazil I went to London.

Paul Pogba was once again left out for this evening's FA Cup quarter-final win over Brighton, having also been named amongst the substitutes for United's key Champions League game against Sevilla in midweek. I don't want you smashing him up in training tomorrow'.
