Roseanne Barr Reveals Why a 'Roseanne' Revival Didn't Happen Sooner

Roseanne says she excited about the return of her classic TV, legendary TV show.

Roseanne premieres on Tuesday, March 27th at 8 PM on ABC.

Roseanne Barr joked with Howard Stern Tuesday that President Donald Trump is "stealing her act" after she ran for president in 2012 and campaigned via Twitter. Not only did the consistently poor and down-on-their-luck Conner clan win the lottery, changing their lines forever, but patriarch Dan (John Goodman) also cheated on matriarch Roseanne (Roseanne Barr). "Sara and John were on Sara's [Gilbert] talk show and they did a little sketch".

"I doubt that will happen", said actress/producer, Sara Gilbert, while the show's co-producer/writer, Whitney Cummings, said she'd flat-out "send him to voicemail".

"Yeah, like everybody's family I know is divided", Barr responded.

Nixon said that standing up to bullies and sending a "clear, loud message" was her campaign's goal. She accused him of worsening the inequities in school funding. "It's all scripted.

Barr now has a reboot of the sitcom, which is heavily political. I watched it faithfully as an ordinary citizen (I started writing about television in its penultimate season, back in 1996), and hung on through its off-the-rails metafictional final year.

Oscar nominee Laurie Metcalf, who is reprising her role as Aunt Jackie, agreed that stepping back on the set was like a time warp.

"You want Pence for the friggin' President?" He's talking about a movie, but the statement works for "Roseanne", too.

If you were a hardcore "Roseanne" fan, you'll see great thought was put into updating the regulars.

"Most people struggle, most people are quirky, most people are weird, so I think it's always important and that's what we hope to do, is let people feel like instead of - that's a TV family, let them feel like, oh that's my family", said Sara Gilbert, who played one of Roseanne's daughters.
