Theresa May urges United Kingdom unity on Brexit one-year countdown tour

Moreover, with European Union leaders having reached agreement last week on a 21-month transition period which will keep the United Kingdom within the European Union, to all intents and goal, until the end of 2020, it seems likely that the post-Brexit trade and regulatory environment will not become fully clear for another couple of years at the earliest.

Speaking to voters in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, May will say that, whether they voted Leave or Remain, what is important now is making Brexit "a success for everyone".

"We are very grateful to the Prime Minister for agreeing to meet us", said Bertie Armstrong, chief executive of the Scottish Fishermen Federation.

Starting in Scotland she had an entirely natural cup of tea with factory workers before she visited a nursery school in Heddon-on-the-Wall where she got a amusing look from one of the parents but managed to avoid any of the children making her look ridiculous.

Theresa May has begun a tour of the UK exactly one year until Britain leaves the European Union, vowing to keep the country "united".

Speaking ahead of her trip, she restated her rejection of EU proposals to effectively create a border down the Irish Sea by keeping Northern Ireland in the customs union.

An influential member of the European Parliament has warned that, with a year to the day until the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, there remains a danger that Brexit could reverse the global cooperation that has been achieved during the past decade and lead back to local financial markets.

VW Atlas Tanoak concept could preview a pickup
VW officials claim the Tanoak is purely a concept, but a company with no pickup truck, that's subject to change. The more realistic targets would include Honda's Ridgeline and Hyundai's yet-to-be-released Santa Cruz pickup .

It is still not certain that the parliament will vote for an as yet not negotiated deal in the autumn.

May, who reached an outline deal on the divorce with the European Union in December, said in a statement that the deal showed that "we can get an arrangement for the future which will be in the interests" of both sides.

Brexit remains a fractious topic, with former prime minister Tony Blair leading a push for second referendum.

"I said, you know, some were predicting great problems if people voted for Brexit".

"There is still a real chance that we should be able to choose, if that's what we want, a different path and not go down the Brexit route", she added.

"Once those details are becoming clearer, as the government comes towards the end of the negotiations, then it ought to be up to the people to decide what path we, the country, take", she said.

Her message will attempt to show unity across the country. Harvey Blackwood analysts say big business also welcomed May's sentiments and that she was even supported by some Brexit campaigners for her practical stance.
