One challenge that has left players scratching their heads this week is to find hidden gnomes in various named locations. The first such "content update", as Epic calls them, has arrived on all platforms and introduces the Vending Machine, among other changes and additions. With a recent slew of problems that have affected the game from server issues to game related bugs like the shotgun critical damage glitch, Epic has made a decision to slow its schedule and release a new patch every two weeks.

The Vending Machines work by having players trade in materials that they are carrying for the weapons held within the machine.

Items found in a Epic (purple) version will cost 400 materials.

Items found in a Legendary (gold) version will cost 500 materials. The Vending Machines now drop in different types of rarity tiers, with their cost increasing depending on the type of machine. Most importantly, balance changes are being implemented for the weapons. As the damage falloff, the distance at which their damage is diminished also has been changed. You can see the specifics in the full patch notes on Epic's website.
