At 10:00, indices extended losses, with the Sensex falling 100.91 points to 34,515.73 and the Nifty declining 36 points to 10,578.40.

Index heavyweights like Reliance Industries (RIL), Yes Bank, Adani Ports, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), and ICICI Bank were the top gainers on the BSE.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan tacked on 0.1 percent following two straight days of declines that took it to its lowest since April 9.

IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Sun Pharma gained the most while HDFC Bank, Coal India and Hero MotoCorp were the major losers.

Meanwhile, on a net basis, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 680.99 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 508.55 crore yesterday, provisional data showed.

The benchmark BSE Sensex jumped 165 points up, to close at 34,616.64 on Tuesday, while the NSE Nifty ended 29 points higher at 10,614.35.

On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel fell 0.94 percent and IDFC Bank dropped 0.10 percent, ahead of their Q4 results scheduled to announce today.

Indian shares were fluctuating in early trade on Monday, tracking muted cues from other Asian markets as investors kept a wary eye on U.S. bond yields and digested U.S. President Donald Trump's comments that the North Korean nuclear crisis was a long way from being resolved.
