National Basketball Association wants rapper Drake to tone it down after Kendrick Perkins stoush

While no fight broke out, it seemed to warrant enough of a concern that the National Basketball Association has reportedly given Drake a warning on his choice of language during games.

As the Toronto Raptors looked to raise their playoff profile in an effort to finally advance beyond LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers, their most visible fan appeared to have his own lofty aspirations.

The beef between Drake and Perkins didn't end once that on-court cameras went offline, per Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star.

Game 2 tips off Thursday at 6 p.m. ET in Toronto on ESPN.

The Raptors, who have named Drake a global ambassador for the team, also discussed the matter with Drake, according to the official who requested anonymity because of the nature of the matter. In the clip below, Drake can be heard saying "I never said that shit". The second happened after the Cavaliers narrowly defeated the Raptors 113-112. It was also mentioned in reports that there were more words exchanged post-game. Some may compare Drake to Spike Lee for the NY Knicks in terms of their passion for their teams and heckling of opposing players.

The Raptors hosted game two on Thursday and Cleveland won 128-110.
