Andrew Lincoln Reportedly Leaving The Walking Dead Next Season

Multiple news sources are reporting that Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, will be leaving The Walking Dead after season 9.

Andrew isn't the only actor who will be appearing in a limited number of episodes in the upcoming season of The Walking Dead.

Today is a sad day for many longtime fans of The Walking Dead, as the stalwart leader of the zombie apocalypse was announced to be leaving the series later this year.

It's also unclear if this decision comes from Lincoln's camp or from AMC, which is planning a multi-medium expansion of The Walking Dead brand. Marvel has already green lit a sequel to Black Panther.

And, on Sunday, the president said an American delegation was meeting with North Korean officials in preparation for the meeting. But without a clear plan of objectives, the talks could leave the a worse position than if it holds off on the talks.

The news of the actor's exit was first reported by Collider. He's apparently in only six episodes of the ninth season. Why? What's more, Lincoln's Rick is still the focal point of creator Robert Kirkman's comic series on which the AMC drama is based. The viewer never gets to see the true vision of the show. A similar shift occurred in the February 25 Season 8 midseason return of TWD earlier this year when the Chandler Riggs' portrayed Carl Grimes died after being bitten by a walker.

To fill the void in the show's leading man status, AMC are rumoured to be offering an improved financial offer to long-running series star Norman Reedus. Are you happy or sad to see this big of a change take place?

Despite "TWD" showrunners maintaining the show doesn't evolve around one character, it's hard to overstate just how devastating a blow this is. It is not clear how Lincoln's character will make his exit. Former showrunner Scott Gimple recently stepped down at the end of season eight and will be succeeded by veteran TWD writer Angela Kang.
