Chicago State Professor: Roseanne Barr’s Tweet Is ‘Disheartening’

She zig-zagged between apologizing for her foul Twitter behavior and retweeting memes that made her apology sound insincere. "I'm exhausted of being attacked & belittled more than other comedians who have said worse".

Despite her insistence that her followers not defend the tweet, Barr on Wednesday morning retweeted a number of conservative users who suggested that liberal commentators should be fired for making insensitive jokes about President Trump, seeming to point to a double standard in Barr's firing. "I made a mistake I wish I hadn't but...don't defend it please". Robert F Kennedy's daughter, blamed the sleep aid for a drugged-driving incident, USA Today reported. In 2009, Radar reported that Rachel Uchitel had told friends she and golf star Tiger Woods used to have "crazy Ambien sex".

Barr has since stated that she would be addressing the entire controversy on Joe Rogan's podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience", this upcoming Friday.

"Roseanne" had returned to United States screens in March after a 21-year hiatus with Barr's character recast as a Trump supporter in a rare depiction of working class life on the U.S. small screen.

Barr also levelled commentary and blame at her Roseanne workmates, reposting a tweet by her TV daughter and executive producer, Sara Gilbert, who had called Barr's initial comments "abhorrent", and said she was "disappointed in her actions to say the least".

Arnold wrote for Roseanne starting in 1988 and married Barr in 1990; the marriage ended in divorce in 1994.

One right-wing activist even went as far as to accuse ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey of consulting former first lady Michelle Obama before cancelling her show.

In extended interactions with her online supporters, Barr, who shares a mutual regard with Mr Trump, at one stage compared her plight to that of the Twitter-loving President, posting: "i feel bad for @POTUS-he goes thru this every single day". I should have known better. "I think that is why I am so glad to be here this evening talking with all of you". It premiered in March to record-breaking ratings, scoring over 18-million viewers with its premiere, before dipping to about 10-million by season's end, but still remaining the No. 1 scripted primetime television series in the 18-49 demo. The closest analogy is CBS pulling the plug on the Smothers Brothers variety show due to their anti-war views in the late 1960s and the same network not renewing "Lou Grant" at its peak, which star Ed Asner always contended was due to his outspoken political beliefs.
