Zinedine Zidane quits as Real Madrid manager after third Champions League crown

Real Madrid are on the look-out for a new manager after Zinedine Zidane resigned from his post.

Zinedine Zidane says he is stepping down as Real Madrid boss, just five days after leading them to a third straight Champions League triumph.

These words now ring hollow with Florentino Perez scrambling to find a new coach to replace the outgoing Frenchman, especially with the two press conferences only two months' apart.

"We have had complicated moments of the season when you are not at your best, the fans push you and that made us better".

Zidane told the assembled media that "This is the right moment for everyone, it might seem a bit unusual, but it had to be done for the good of everyone, the players, the club, and myself".

The French coach chose to throw in the towel after winning an unprecedented third consecutive Champions League trophy last weekend.

Today, that game has been confirmed to be Fallout 76 with a brief teaser trailer and the in-game screenshots we've included below. Is it set in West Virginia, then? To put it simply, we want to see exactly the type of game Fallout 76 will be.

Zidane, who had an illustrious playing career with the Los Blancos, first took charge of Castilla, Real Madrid's academy side before being appointed as the first team manager following Rafael Benitez's sacking in 2016. Or at least one man who the fans want to take it on... I am not exhausted of coaching, after three years.

Real president Perez added: "This was a totally unexpected decision, Zidane informed me of his choice yesterday". "I'm not here to talk about the future of this team". "But it is the moment to [leave] here", said Zidane.

"He's an example for everyone, I hope that this doesn't serve as a farewell, I want him to return someday". But when he takes a decision the only thing we can do is respect it.

"I suppose the President knew [Zidane was leaving] before today, so he has for sure been getting in touch with possible coaches and getting their opinion of coming to Real Madrid".

He won the Spanish league title in his second season, then became the first manager to win the Champions League in his first three seasons when Real defeated Juventus in the 2017 final, and Liverpool this month.

Zidane announced his decision in Madrid on Thursday morning.
