Mojave follows Apple's series of mountain-themed macOS updates, which have been a mainstay of the software over the past few years. From the screenshots, Dark Mode on macOS Mojave looks STUNNING.

Dark Mode awards your desktop with a darkened color scheme, ultimately placing a focus on user content. Apps such as Mail, Messages, Maps, Calendar, and Photos all feature Dark Modes, as you can then toggle between a light and a dark desktop.

The new version of Apple's desktop operating system is called macOS Mojave.

On Monday at Apple's annual conference, the American multinational technology company revealed that the latest version of its mobile operating system iOS 12 will have new privacy features. Along with these new third-party apps, Apple has also introduced four new apps: Home, News, Stocks, and Voice Memos.

One other new feature of MacOS Mojave is desktop stacks, which automatically categorizes files on the desktop into stacks which you can go through to declutter your Mac's desktop space. This can clear the clutter of files on the desktop by a single click, including by time, date or tags.

The Mac App Store will also be getting some upgrades, with a redesign that provides editorial content to make it less of a hassle to find a Mac app for your needs. Finder adds a new Gallery View, which allows you to scroll through oversized previews of your files. Considering how the Measure app will come standard on iOS 12, users will have little reason to download a second AR measuring app from the App Store unless it has other special features or abilities.

The developer preview of iOS 12 is available now and a public beta programme will be available to iOS users later this month.

A number of apps from developers, including Office 365 from Microsoft and Lightroom CC from Adobe will also soon find their way into the Mac App Store.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple software chief Craig Federighi told the audience at the conference: "We've all seen these "like" buttons and "share" buttons".

At the moment it looks like Favicon support is turned off by default in macOS 10.14 Mojave, but can be turned on from the Safari Preferences screen. Safari will also include new protections against "Fingerprinting", in which websites track users based on attributes such as system configuration, fonts, and plug-ins.

Screenshots deliver new on-screen controls for easy access to every screenshot option and new video recording capabilities. There is an enhanced Intelligent Tracking Prevention system to block social media buttons and comment widgets from tracking users.
