France warns Trump over 'fits of anger' after G7 statement u-turn

The G7 summit came after the Trump administration decided last week to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union, Canada and Mexico, which has drawn strong opposition from US business community and quick retaliation from major USA trading partners.

"The European Union had a $151 Billion Surplus-should pay much more for Military!"

Mr Trudeau on Sunday publicly ignored the dispute, instead hailing "the historic and important agreement" that "will help make our economies stronger & people more prosperous", as he wrote on Twitter.

"I have made it very clear to the President that it is not something we relish doing, but it something that we absolutely will do", Trudeau said.

"Based on Justin's false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!" "$800 Billion Trade Deficit." he tweeted. "We make commitments and keep to them". Canada does indeed impose a 270% tariff on dairy that has kept many US dairy products from making their way from the U.S.to Canada.

In view of threatened United States tariffs on vehicle imports, which would particularly affect Germany, Grenell said that he was a "big auto fan" and knew how important the industry was. "I don't understand the obsession with trade relations with Canada", he said, given that Canada is the biggest single buyer of American goods and services in the world.

In a separate interview on CBS's "Face the Nation", Kudlow said the Trump had a "very successful, calm, friendly, respectful bilateral" with Trudeau and that the USA won't withdraw from Nafta.

"For Canadians who ... stood shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers in far-off lands and conflicts from the First World War onward.it's kind of insulting", Trudeau said.

Mr. Kudlow said Mr. Trudeau "busted up" the G-7 summit with his remarks - even if they were designed for domestic consumption in Canada, and though Mr. Trump is known for making strident comments in other settings.

South Koreans Hopeful Peace Will Prevail
US President Donald Trump has arrived in Singapore for Tuesday's historic summit with North Korea's Kim Jong-un. This has included backing away from an original demand for North Korea's swift denuclearisation .

Larry Kudlow, director of the U.S. National Economic Council, said on CNN that Trudeau engaged in "betrayal" and "stabbed us in the back".

"It would be with regret but it would be with absolute certainty and firmness that we move forward with retaliatory measures on July 1 applying equivalent tariffs to the ones that the Americans have unjustly applies to us", Trudeau said at a press conference closing the summit.

Trump's comments come after a feud erupted between his administration and Trudeau.

Peter Navarro, top White House trade advisor, echoed Kudlow during an interview on Fox news.

In Quebec City early on Sunday, Trudeau declined to answer reporters' questions about the aftermath of the two-day G7 summit in Quebec.

The spat has also drawn in Germany and France, who sharply criticised Mr Trump's decision to abruptly withdraw his support for a G7 communique hammered out at a Canadian summit, accusing him of destroying trust and acting inconsistently.

"He followed up by asking why the USA should "allow countries to continue to make "massive trade surpluses", asserting that it is "not fair to the people of America" and that the U.S. is suffering under a "$800 billion trade deficit".

Speaking at his closing news conference, Trudeau says the G7 has agreed to an "ambitious" communique - but he did not immediately release a document or provide details of where the exclusive club of wealthy democracies found common ground.
