Paul's projected total value for the deal is upwards of $159.73M.

The Rockets had their best regular season in franchise history with Paul and NBA MVP James Harden leading the way.

The deal is valued at $160 million over 4 years, giving the team a sizeable window to break down the Golden State Warriors, winners of 3 out of 4 'ships. While Paul never considered leaving the Rockets in free agency, league sources say there was tension about the length of his new contract. In the playoffs 33-year-old point guard were given as 21.1 points and 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

CP3 was able to suit up for 58 games this season for the Rockets, averaging 18.6 points, 7.9 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.

The Rockets acquired Paul a year ago in an opt-in-and-trade deal with the LA Clippers.
