Toronto Raptors Current Favorites To Land Kawhi Leonard

Nobody really seems to know what the hell is going on with Leonard and the Spurs, and trade rumors surrounding the forward have been all over the place.

The Sixers could offer a combination of young players and drafts picks to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard.

It's probably a longshot, but it is interesting to see that Toronto is being talked about alongside National Basketball Association heavyweights like the Los Angeles Lakers - Leonard's preferred choice - the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.

The team is in talks with San Antonio to acquire the two-time all-star via a trade.

An article published in the Washington Post this week said the Raptors have "generated buzz" as a potential Leonard destination. They have better odds than the Spurs, better odds than the Lakers, betters odds than the 76ers, better odds than the Celtics, better odds than every other team.

While there's been no concrete reporting that Toronto is actively trying to break up their starting backcourt, there's been plenty of speculation that the team would look to trade one of their All-Stars.

If San Antonio wants to get a deal done, the Sixers remain one of the best options in the league. The Raptors have five straight years of 48-plus wins and no NBA Finals appearances, culminating this past season with a second-round sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers as the East's No.1 seed.

Leonard's group has stated he would only want to re-sign next summer with a team from the Los Angeles area, which continues to dissuade teams from putting together an attractive package with multiple assets for the Spurs.

It may not be ideal for the Spurs, but it's one that would get the deal done. But this could be good news for Philly fans, as landing a player of Leonard's abilities might give the Sixers a leg up on the now wide open Eastern Conference.
