Demi Lovato 'awake,' with family at hospital after apparent drug overdose

Singer Demi Lovato has been hospitalized after suffering an apparent drug overdose, a source close to her family tells CNN.

The outlet reports Lovato was transported from her Hollywood Hills home this morning.

News received a statement from Lovato's spokesperson, saying she is "awake and with her family". Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy. An earlier report from TMZ claimed paramedics told them it was, but a source close to Lovato has denied this to United States magazine People. Azalea revealed to ET that she knew about Lovato's relapse and was anxious someone would use the news against her, but said ultimately, she was proud of Lovato for sharing her struggle in "Sober".

Demi Lovato opened up about her previous addiction troubles in a 2017 documentary. The singer, who enjoys a huge fan base across the world has been receiving prayers on the social media from celebs and her well-wishers.

Fox said it would pull its episode of "Beat Shazam" featuring Lovato, which was to air Tuesday night, because of the recent news.

A source told Us that Valderrama was not aware that Lovato had relapsed so acutely after six years of being proudly sober.

Lovato's hospitalization on Tuesday comes just weeks after the singer, who has struggled with substance abuse, revealed she had recently suffered a relapse.

He wrote: 'Like all of you I am thinking of @DDLovato right now.

"I was just really proud of her that she was honest, because it's really hard to be honest with yourself", Azalea told ET. It breaks my heart that she is going through this.
