Demi Lovato’s reported overdose was meth, not heroin, new reports say

The 38-year-old actor was spotted paying a visit to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday (July 25), where his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend is now being treated after a reported overdose. In her YouTube documentary released previous year called "Demi Lovato, Simply Complicated", she openly discussed her cocaine use and battles with alcohol.

The singer's friend called emergency services after reportedly finding her "unconscious in bed" after a big night of partying, according to TMZ.

'The overdose has been a wake-up call to Demi that she needs to get more serious about her sobriety and is telling friends and family she will do everything it takes to get back to the awesome place she was in before she slipped'.

It follows the claims that the "Sober" singer's pals had actually "saved Demi's life" after administering the star with Narcan, a nasal spray used to treat drug overdoses, according to US Weekly. This is obviously a huge wake-up call.

In 2015 Lovato was spokeswoman for the "Be Vocal: Speak Up for Mental Health" campaign and talked to Women's Health about why she went public with her mental health issues. "He arrived and left by himself".

Many members of the entertainment and music communities have reached out to support Demi Lovato as she struggles with a recent drug overdose in the last few days. Lovato turned down the help.
