Dana White: Conor McGregor will not be punished for bus attack

Former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre has expressed interest in one fight that might be able to lure him to make a return to the Octagon under the UFC banner, which is fighting te victor of the lightweight title showdown between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor that is slated to go down at the upcoming UFC 229 pay-per-view event.

Nurmagomedov (26-0) proceeded to overwhelm Al Iaquinta in Brooklyn to capture the lightweight belt that the UFC had stripped from McGregor.

McGregor (21-3) made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather last August but he has not fought in the UFC since November 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden.

Conor McGregor will return to the UFC Octagon for the first time in nearly two years in October. These two talented fighters have no love loss between them, and fans are anxious for the bout. UFC president Dana White downplayed the idea when asked during the conference.

In March, Georges St-Pierre explained on the MMA Hour why he didn't believe he would return to fight Conor McGregor.

"We're pretty confident that we can control what happens", White said.

Unlike former two-division champion, Mcgregor had worldwide media appearances for his bout against Jose Aldo at UFC 189 and on a much larger scale the promotion of Floyd Mayweather bout, this time around there wouldn't be any world tour due to of tight time frame.

The UFC did not disclose the terms of the fight agreement.

Those health problems are almost resolved, and now GSP is looking to take on the victor of McGregor-Khabib ... if the UFC will let him.

The battle will be far from a cakewalk for McGregor.

In an interview with TMZ, Diaz said the lawsuit was settled a month ago and criticized the UFC for their lack of promotion.

Although Diaz alluded to unspecified legal troubles that kept him out of action, the veteran brawler also had waited two years in hopes of getting a highly lucrative third fight with McGregor.

Well it seems like Conor McGregor's Irish lawyer may have confirmed the date and location for his bout with Nurmagomedov.

As it played, Diaz abruptly left the presser he was at and tweeted "I'm not fighting on that show (expletive) the UFC".
