We've gotten a peek at quite a few of Android 9.0 Pie's features in recent months, but it's worth taking a glance at them one more time now that the update is officially rolling out to the public.

For the Pixel 3, it appears that Google wants to have these creators tell a narrative story about real use with the device and the process of making the switch.

Android Pie, which was simply known as P, includes a whole host of new AI-powered features that are created to make your phone smarter, and simplify the experience of using it.

Android Pie also features a new app navigation system, which essentially replaces the hardware or software-based app select button found on many modern smartphones.

We've previously covered version 9's features, here, and here, after playing around with developer builds of Android P - the its codename. This includes a Dashboard to show you exactly how much you've been using your phone and an App Timer to help you control your usage.

Also coming to Pixel phones this fall is Digital Wellbeing. Adaptive Battery will learn the apps you use most and prioritize battery for them, while Adaptive Brightness will figure out how you like your phone's brightness set in different situations and then do it for you.

Android Pie is also introducing a new system navigation featuring a single home button.

Google today confirmed Android 9.0 Pie. For example, if you go to Google Search and type in "Lyft", an interactive Slice will provide a price and time for a trip to work, and it's fully interactive so you can simply click to order a ride. With it, you'll be able to get important info from inside your apps without actually launching them. For example, App Actions will suggest a playlist when you connect Bluetooth headphones. There are some nice UI improvements in there, too, like more rounded design elements and a redesigned Quick Settings.

Soon after, you'll get an email with an invite to begin testing digital wellness.

"Devices that participated in the Beta programme from Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Essential, as well as all qualifying Android One devices, will receive this update by the end of this fall", said Google. More details at the link below!
