[ Excuse me while I nerd out on my favorite video game for a post.]
Hello to my fellow Warriors of Light. To those who’ve never played to game, welcome to Eorzea. I’m talking about Final Fantasy 14. It’s the MMO of Final Fantasy’s. No you don’t have to play the others to understand this one. There are some Easter eggs through this game relating to older Final Fantasys. It still makes the game fun. FFXIV is on its second expansion now. Stormblood releases June 20th. Early access is June 16th. This past Monday, Yoshi P (the creator) hosted a live letter explaining some new changes coming to job classes and battling system. May I say how excited I am. I present to you the Stormblood loading screen!
Isn’t it beautiful?! I’m way to excited if you couldn’t tell. The upcoming job changes and tweaks look pretty interesting too! They are introducing job gauges. These are used to measure different things per job. For Black Mages, it measure their astrial fire and umbral ice. Monks; it shows what chakra you are on. Warriors; it shows which stance you are in and how built up you are. Red Mage; the newer class, it measures the white and black magic balance you have. They haven’t said a whole lot about Red Mages but that little tidbit makes it exciting if you ask me. These are just a few changes that were discussed. Another is the fact they are freeing up our hot bar space. Some moves and actions are being deleted, others are combing. For example; Healers have Stone 1, 2, and 3. These are being combined into one button depending on the move. If the move is AOE it will be separate. If they are all single target hits they will be one button. One I’m a tad sad about is that they are getting rid of Raging Strikes. I play Summoner so this is in my rotation of moves. Something new for the Summoner though, is we are going to be able to summon the primal Bahamut. Ahhhh!!! I’m to excited. I did attempt taking notes through the whole stream but there was so much I didn’t get but maybe a third. Around the end of the streaming they did mention a couple new items on the Mog Station. One is an item you can purchase to skip A Realm Reborn story line. Another is to skip Heavensward. These are mainly to use to be up to speed with new content since there is so much. As far as leveling goes, there is an item they are bring into Stormblood for purchase. It is use to get up to level 60. It was stated we could only purchase one per account, per job. I believe its so they can see if we abuse them or use them to play with friends. This game is very good for bringing people together. I myself play with my boyfriend and a group of his work friends.
If anyone would like to play an would like to have someone to help them out, feel free to give me a shout. My characters on the Coeurl server. Her name is Tiny One.
